Organizational structure

NWQPHC functions on a place planning’ standard, where communities can access the division directly via the primary contacts.

NWQPHC supports more than 100 GPs as well as registrars in North & West Queensland. The Division extends from Mornington Island and Cardwell towards the North, Birdsville towards the South West the Northern and Southern Australian borders towards the
west, Palm island towards the East, and Tambo towards the South East, covering over 770 000 square kilometers.

The GP member service of the division has about 116 000 members from Queensland. Roughly, 90 staff have offices n Townsville, Mt. Isa, and Longreach, providing support in the areas of enrollment, practice management, professional growth, and health care support.
Besides, NWQPHC provides affiliated health outreach services and runs health clinics in McKinley, Birds Ville, and Bedourie.

NWQPHC also endorses the major role of general practice in rural primary health care by partnering with the major stakeholders and general practice. NWQPHC is among the 120 divisions in Australia and one among the 19 situated in Queensland.
